Leukemia
Eleven-year-old Danushika and fifteen-year-old Tharindi had never met before, but life brought them together in a very special way. Both girls were bravely fighting Leukemia, showing courage far beyond their years.
Even during treatment, their hearts were full of dreams. What they wished for most was simple yet powerful —
a tablet that would help them continue their studies and catch up on the time they had missed in school.
They believed that learning would help them stay connected to their goals, their classmates, and the future they were determined to reach.
When Make-A-Wish team learned about their shared dream, they knew this wish would bring not only joy but also confidence and hope. On the day of the wish, the room filled with warm smiles as the girls’ tablets—carefully chosen just for them—were revealed.
Danushika’s eyes sparkled as she gently held her tab for the first time.
Tharindi smiled with quiet pride, knowing this gift would help her move closer to the future she imagined.
Together, they celebrated a moment of courage, connection, and new beginnings.
With their new tabs in hand, they felt ready to learn again, dream again, and take one step closer to a brighter tomorrow.
Their wish wasn’t just about a device — it was about hope, strength, and the belief that every dream matters
